Muhamedi (paqja qoftë mbi të dhe familjen e tij) porosiste për unitetin ndërsa na tërhiqte vërejtjen për qëndrim armiqësor ndaj njëri-tjetrit. Ai krenohej me ummetin e Tij, duke na quajt ummet i mëshirshëm, pra edhe i mirëkuptueshëm: “Shembulli i besimtarit është si shembulli i një peme, të cilës nuk i bien gjethet”. Pema që Profeti (paqja qoftë mbi të dhe familjen e tij) kishte ndër mend është ajo e palmës (hurma arabe). Po a e dini përse e përngjason Profeti (paqja qoftë mbi të dhe familjen e tij) besimtarin me hurmën?

Ashtu siç është trungu i palmës i drejtë dhe i qëndrueshëm, i tillë është edhe besimtari. Si palma ashtu edhe besimtarët janë të dobishëm. Secili prej tyre, të keqen e kthen me të mirë. Nëse hurmën e gjuan me gurë, ajo ta kthen me kokrra hurme të ëmbla. Sakaq, kur besimtari ngacmohet nga injorantët, ai ua kthen me fjalët: “paqe – selam”. Hadithi thotë: “Më të mirët nga ummeti im do të jenë ata që kur sillet dikush keq me ta – tolerojnë, që falin të tjerët kur u bëjnë padrejtësi, dhe që janë të qëndrueshëm kur të tjerët i shqetësojnë”. Apo edhe thënia tjetër: “Më të mirët nga ummeti im janë ata që thirrin për te Allahu dhe e bëjnë Allahun të dashur tek krijesat”.

Ta kemi në konsideratë se me qenë pjesë e ummetit të Hazret Muhamedit (paqja qoftë mbi të dhe familjen e tij) është një privilegj, por gjithsesi lakmi e besimtarëve të kohërave të mëparshme: “Jeni populli më i dobishëm, i ardhur për të mirën e njerëzve, të urdhëroni për mirë, të ndaloni nga veprat e këqija dhe të besoni në Allahun”.

Enes ibn Maliku r.anhu tregon se ishte njëherë me Muhamedin (paqja qoftë mbi të dhe familjen e tij) dhe një zë vinte prapa një peme, dhem ua më tha i Dërguari: “Ngrihu dhe shiko çka është pas asaj peme”. Kur po e shihja, ishte një njeri që po falej, thoshte: “O Allah! Më bëj të jem pjesë e ummetit muhamedan, ummet i mëshiruar, i falur, që i pranohen lutjet, i kthyer nga Ai”. U ktheva dhe e lajmërova atë që pashë, i Dërguari më tha: “Shko dhe bëri selam nga unë dhe pyete kush është”. Veprova siç më tha, dhe u ktheva me një porosi: “Vëllai yt Hazreti Hidri po të përben që të lutësh që Zoti të bëjë nga ummeti yt, i mëshiruar dhe i falur”. Hazret Muhamedi (paqja qoftë mbi të dhe familjen e tij) gjithashtu na e dëfton edhe një shkëndijë të vlerës së të qenit nga ummeti i tij. Allahu i Lartësuar e ka quajt ummet i selamit/paqes dhe ummet i besimtarëve.

Me privilegjin e emërtimit si ummet janë të gjithë që deri në ditën e fundit, i qëndrojnë besnik të Dërguarit Muhamed (paqja qoftë mbi të dhe familjen e tij) dhe jo vetëm një periudhë kohore, dhe për këtë është treguar nga kjo ngjarje profetike: “Një ditë i Dërguari u shfaq i përmalluar për vëllezërit, ne i thamë: “O i Dërguar! A jemi ne ata vëllezër?” Profeti tha: “Ju jeni shoqëruesit e Mi, vëllezërit e mi janë ata njerëz që më besojnë edhe pse nuk më kanë parë, çdonjëri prej tyre do jepte gjithçka vetëm për të më parë, vepra e tyre është sa e shtatëdhjetë prej jush”. E pyetëm: “Me çka e arritën këtë (vlerë)?” Na tha: “Ngase ata janë përkrahës të hajrit (dobisë) dhe jo përkrahës të sherrit (dëmit)”.

Ekziston rrezik real i shkaktimit të trazirave, për ketë mund të mallkohet dikush edhe pse mendon se po vepron arsyeshëm. Hazret Muhamedi (paqja qoftë mbi të dhe familjen e tij) na porositë: “Fitneja (trazira) është e fjetur (pasive), Allahu e mallkoftë atë që e zgjon (e bën aktive”.
