Një ditë tek Imam Husejni (paqja qoftë mbi të) erdhi një i afërm dhe tha: “U bëfsha kurban për ty o Imam, e kemi një shok të sëmurë dhe mjekët e kanë këshilluar që të përmbahet nga disa ushqime të caktuara”.

Imami u përgjigj: “Ne Ehli Bejti (Familja e Pejgamberit (paqja qoftë mbi të dhe familjen e tij)), nuk përmbahemi nga asnjë lloj ushqimi përveç hurmave dhe veten e shërojmë duke ngrënë mollë dhe duke pirë ujë të ftohtë”.

I afërmi e pyeti: “E pse përmbaheni nga hurmat?”

Imam Husejni (paqja qoftë mbi të) iu përgjigj: “Sepse kur Pejgmaberi Muhamed (paqja qoftë mbi të dhe familjen e tij) ka qenë i sëmurë, thjesht ai nuk ka ngrënë hurma”.

Dhe pastaj ai tha: “Pacienti nuk do të dëmtohet nëse për një kohë nuk përdorë pemë të këtilla si hurmat”.
