Formimi i familjes sipas udhëzimeve islame konsiderohet një urdhër i Zotit. Një martesë të tillë, të mbështetur në normat dhe rregullate Islamit duhet ta kryejnë burri dhe gruaja. Kjo është një detyrë dhe përgjegjshmëri përpara Allahut. Kjo nuk është përmendur në kontekstin e obligimeve sheriatike, sepse është konsideruar si mjaft e qartë, e cila nuk ka nevojë të shtjellohet e diskutohet më tej.
Allahu i Lartësuar e konfirmon lidhjen e tillë martesore jo me cilësinë e saj si legjitime, por si një ngjarjeje të vazhdueshme, e cila ndikon në jetë dhe në shoqëri. Prandaj kjo lidhje martesore është përmendur si nxitje dhe këshillë për lidhjen e shëndetshme dhe të bazuar në parimet islame ndërmjet burrit dhe gruas dhe me përçmimin e ndarjes.
