Kurani – Libri i Allahut dhe Praktika e Profetit Muhamed (s.a.a.), janë burimet kryesore të fesë islame dhe që të dy me normat dhe rregullat e tyre e trajtojnë në mënyrë reale çështjen e tolerancës dhe të lirive fetare. Në fenë islame nuk mund të imagjinohet teoria pa praktikën në asnjë pikëpamje dhe meqë problematika që po trajtojmë është me rëndësi teorike dhe praktike, atëherë në vazhim do të shohim tolerancën islame, si reflektim ideor dhe praktik.
