Pas përfundimit të kompletimit të plotë të Ademit (a.s.) të gjithë engjëjt ishin urdhëruar të gjunjëzoheshin përpara tij. Në fjalët e Kuranit të Shenjtë thuhet: “Dhe kur ne u thamë engjëjve: ‘Binduni Ademit’, ata iu bindën, por Iblisi nuk u përul. Ai refuzoi, ishte mendjemadh dhe ishte një jobesimtar“. (Surja el-Bekare, ajeti 34)
Kjo komandë që Zoti i dha engjëjve t’i bindeshin Ademit (a.s.) është tregues i fisnikërisë dhe madhështisë së statusit njerëzor si rregull krijimi. Iblisi, sikurse njihet shejtani, nuk ishte engjëll, por ai ishte futur ndërmjet engjëjve. Mosbindja e tij dhe refuzimi të gjunjëzohej përpara Ademit (a.s.) bëri që ai të largohej nga afërsia me Zotin dhe të urrehej prej Tij. Kjo e bëri Shejtanin të vendoste të hakmerrej ndaj Ademit (a.s.). Banimi i Ademit (a.s.) në parajsë dhe më pas vijueshmëria e tyre në tokë është përshkruar dhe tri kapituj të ndryshëm të Kuranit të Shenjtë. Në suren el-Bekare Zoti thotë: “Dhe ne themi: O Adem! Jetoni ju dhe gruaja juaj në kopsht dhe hani nga ushqimi i bollshëm, ngado që të doni dhe mos e prekni këtë pemë, në rast të kundërt do të jeni të padrejtë“. (Surja el-Bekare, ajeti 35) Në këtë mënyrë Ademi (a.s.) dhe Havaja (s.a.) ishin banorët e parë në parajsë të bekuar në lumturi dhe gëzonin të gjitha frutat e parajsës. Megjithatë Zoti i kishte ndaluar ata të hanin nga një pemë e veçantë, duke i informuar se do të gabonin vetëm po të hanin nga ajo pemë.
Shejtani, si xheloz karshi lumturisë dhe shpëtimit të Ademit (a.s.) vendosi ta deprivonte atë nga bekimet qiellore. Në këtë mënyrë ai erdhi tek Ademi (a.s.) dhe Havaja (s.a.), duke pretenduar të japë urimet dhe udhëzimet e tij. Zoti vazhdimisht i drejtonte Ademit (a.s.) dhe Havanë larg Parajsës. Kurani i shenjtë rrëfen jetët e tyre me fjalët që vijojnë: “Por Shejtani i bëri të dy të binin prej saj dhe detyroi ata të largoheshin nga gjendja në të cilën ishin – Ne themi: disa nga ju janë armiqtë e të tjerëve dhe është për ju në tokë një… dhe një përcaktim për një kohë”. (Surja el-Bekare, ajeti 36)
Ademi (a.s.) e kuptoi që vërtet kishte gabuar veten dhe ishte tërhequr larg nga një jetë e bukur dhe atmosferë e qetë në një mjedis të mjegullt. Më pas ai mori mesazhe shumë të efektshme nga Zoti i tij që e bëri atë të pendohej sinqerisht dhe më pas Zoti e pranoi pendimin e tij. Kurani Famëlartë thotë: “Më pas Ademi mori disa fjalë nga Zoti i tij. Kështu që Ai (Zoti) i ktheu nga ai o Mëshirshëm, sigurisht që Ai është i mëshirshëm“. (Surja el-Bekare, ajeti 37)
Shumë spekulime kanë zënë vend në fjalët e Zotit që i mësoi Ademit (a.s.) me qëllim që ai të pendohej. Megjithatë shumë interpretues besojnë se fjalët janë përshkruar në Suren el-A’raf, e cila thotë: “Ata thonë: Zoti ynë! Ne jemi treguar të padrejtë me veten tonë dhe në qoftë se ju nuk na falni ne dhe nuk keni mëshirë mbi ne, sigurisht do të jemi të humbur“. (Surja el-A’raf, ajeti 23)
Sipas Kuranit të Shenjtë, Ademi (a.s.) dhe Hava-ja nuk iu bindën Zotit, atëherë të dy do të kalonin së bashku pasojat. Kjo është në kontradiktë me sugjerimin biblik se Eva është një njeri e cytur nga Shejtani, e cili në kthim bind Ademin (a.s.) të kryejë mëkat në këtë mënyrë. Gruaja u bë shkak që burri të kryejë mëkat.
