Në ditët e sotme, femrat po fitojnë gjithnjë e më shumë të drejta, gjithashtu, kanë më shumë rol dhe integrim në jetën sociale, politike e ekonomike. Me gjithë këtë, mjerisht, ende vazhduan dhuna fizike, psiqike ndaj saj, keqtrajtimet e ndryshme, deri në mbytje, vrasje. Kështu ndodhë në të gjitha kontinentet, nga Azia në Afrikë, nga Australia në Amerikë. Statistikat tregojnë se sot mbi 4 milionë gra janë viktima të akteve të rënda të dhunës nga të dashurit apo bashkëshortët, çdo vit. Sipas statistikave, një ndër katër gra ka shanse të bjerë viktimë e dhunës në familje. Po sipas statistikave, një ndër katër gra ka shanse të bjerë viktimë e dhunës në familje.
