Pejgamberi Muhamed (paqja qoftë mbi të dhe familjen e tij) në lidhje me lutjen ka thënë:
* “Lutja është thelbi i adhurimit (ibadetit), askush që lutet nuk do të pësoj”.
* “Lutja është arma e besimtarit, shtylla e besimit dhe drita e qiellit dhe e tokës”.
* “Më i pafuqishmi nga njerëzit është ai i cili nuk është në gjendje të bëj lutje”.
* “Ibadeti (adhurimi) më i vlefshëm është lutja. Kur Allahu e lejon robin të bëj lutje, Ai ia hap dyert e mëshirës. Në të vërtetë, kush e bën lutjen, ai nuk vuan”.
